The ASPBP September 2024 Webinar, 'A modified team-based learning readiness assurance process to promote collaborative learning and critical thinking in postbaccalaureate and prematriculation students,' will take place at 2 PM EDT on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. The Webinar will be led by Stephen Schneid, of University California, San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine and Skaggs School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences (SSPPS).

Steve Schneid is the Director of Educational Development and Scholarship at the University California, San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine and Skaggs School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences (SSPPS). Steve has taught biomedical sciences to medical and pharmacy students for over twenty years and created the Team-Based Learning Program at SSPPS and directs the summer prematriculation program at the SOM. He also was involved in the creation of the UCSD Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program and has been teaching in a significant portion of the curriculum since the program was created nearly twelve years ago.

Health professions programs aspire for learning outcomes that go beyond simple memorization or pattern recognition. Additionally, competencies such as teamwork ,collaboration, and commitment to continuous personal and professional growth also should be considered when designing courses for students. The purpose of this webinar is to describe how to design courses that support these competencies and enhance readiness for health professions programs.
